Ethical branding and responsible communication across Skål International Clubs
In today’s digital world, every social media page of Skål International Clubs represents the image and credibility of the global Skål movement. Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X, YouTube and websites are often the first point of contact for prospective members and industry stakeholders. This makes it essential for Clubs to maintain active, updated, and professionally managed pages that follow official Skål branding guidelines.
Skål International Clubs are encouraged to use the latest approved Skål logo (provided in all formats by Skål International), tag the correct pages, and maintain consistency across all communications. Inactive or outdated pages create confusion and negatively impact the image of the organization. If pages cannot be maintained actively, it is better to remove them. The PR & Communications Subcommittee of Skål International, with representatives from every region, is always available to support clubs with guidance and assistance. Clubs should proudly promote their achievements and activities — but always with accuracy and ethical branding.
At the same time, the use of Artificial Intelligence must remain responsible and authentic. While AI is a valuable tool for creativity and communication, Skål International has noticed instances where informal gatherings among a few Skålleagues were presented online as official Club events through misleading captions or AI-generated branding. Such representations may spread false impressions and leave many members feeling excluded if they were neither informed nor invited.
If an event is officially organised under a Club banner, all members should be informed equally and authentic Skål branding should be visible at the venue. Sharing genuine videos and real event coverage can help maintain transparency and credibility.
Ultimately, Club Presidents and Boards are responsible for protecting the integrity of their club communications. Strong Clubs build strong National Committees, strong Regions, and ultimately a stronger Skål International. Blow your own trumpet — but blow it correctly, responsibly, and proudly.
