South Africa gave us so much to enjoy, from its rich culture and delicious cuisine to its remarkable sights and warm hospitality. For me, these shared experiences are at the heart of Skål: the conversations over a meal, the laughter between sessions, and the friendships that continue long after we return home.

Behind this gathering were people who gave generously of their time, energy, and heart. To our Local Organizing Committee, our dedicated Skål International staff, and my colleagues on the 2026 Executive Board, please accept my heartfelt thanks. I know that bringing a World Congress to life takes months of preparation, countless conversations, and a willingness to keep working through challenges. Much of that effort happens behind the scenes, but it deserves to be recognized. On a personal note, I am deeply grateful for your commitment and for the care you bring to serving our members.

Our time together also gave us an opportunity to help shape Skål’s next chapter. We learned more about the Shaping Tomorrow initiative, voted on proposed changes to our By-laws, and discussed the broader initiatives guiding our organization’s future. I was encouraged to see members come together to listen, ask questions, and contribute their perspectives. Now, we must carry that spirit into our Clubs and turn our shared ambitions into meaningful action.

As your President, I remain committed to listening to you and working alongside you, because the future of Skål is something we build together.
